This simple intervention prevented further cholera infections in nearby residents who drew their drinking water from the pump. Prior to that, cholera was not known to be waterborne. Dr. Snow systematically reviewed the case data and conducted a quantified analysis of the outbreak. The removal of the pump ushered in the modern era of evidence-based medicine by launching the field of epidemiology. Rachel holds a Bachelors in Physics from Harvey Mudd College and a Masters in Public Heath from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has successfully introduced several new technologies into clinical practice in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa. She began her career conducting clinical trials for a start-up medical imaging company. Rachel has also had numerous positions in government, academia, and private industry; leading collaborative projects at the apex of these sectors is her specialty as she balances the perspective of each organization to determine the optimal course of action. Rachel leads Broad Street Clinical Consulting with a focus on clients and patients while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and quality.
